It is well known that a case of the blues can creep in after the Christmas holiday.  There is an abundance of holiday hype for (at least) one month with caroling, present shopping, gift wrapping, family gatherings, and then…. a cold January.  Talk about a rude awakening.

For me, these blues come the 5th of July and hang around as I reminisce about a week at the beach (a family tradition) filled with a smattering of BBQs, beach runs, cocktails, and fireworks.  It is a holiday packed with lots of fun and little pressure.

To beat this onset of red, white and BLUES, I like to carry the spirit of 4th of July attire into the rest of summer.  Although a stars and stripes combo might be hard to pull of year round, I stayed true to our country’s colors above except substituted black for white.  Voila!  4th of July whenever my heart desires.
